INTERNET
RESEARCH / WEB SURVEYS
At Canadian Viewpoint we are committed
to and constantly exploring the relationship between market
research and technology.
In addition to the variety of data
collection services we provide, Canadian Viewpoint now
offers clients an additional medium in which to conduct
research through the Internet. Our online research service
was formed in response to the requests from our clients
for web surveys. Our experienced project
directors will co-ordinate and execute all aspects of
your online research project.
For Internet studies, Canadian
Viewpoint programs the survey and manages all phases of
the survey to target respondents including all aspects
of the survey invitation.
Online Data Collection Process
A survey invitation, which includes
a direct link to the survey site, is sent to select
online panel members. This direct link is a unique URL
that allows each individual respondent to access the
survey. When the URL is accessed, the respondent is
logged on and the survey begins. Once the questionnaire
is completed, and the respondent submits the data, the
unique link to the survey is automatically closed to
prevent respondents from logging onto the survey twice.
They are then returned to the Canadian Viewpoint home
page. The data is transferred to the Canadian Viewpoint
server to be processed further.
-
We can send
reminders to individuals who haven't yet initiated
the survey.
-
Send "Please
complete" messages to those individuals who have
initiated the survey but not yet completed it.
-
Respondents
are able to return to the site if a survey was only
partially completed in a previous session.
-
Send thank-you
notes to those respondents who have completed our
survey
Sample: For Canadian Studies
Canadian Viewpoint has created its
own Canadian consumer panel. Our panel is one of Canada's
largest and most responsive, with counts currently exceeding
250,000.
Canadian Viewpoint has also made several strategic partnerships
with other professionally managed Canadian panel companies.
We can leverage these relationships to help with low incidence
or highly targeted sample requirements.
All are respondents have complete demographic information
collected on them which allows our clients to specify
exactly who they are looking for.
By using a multi-source approach and combining telephone
& mall recruitment, referrals, pop up windows, email
invitations, newsletters, and banner ads, Canadian Viewpoint
has been able to support a more representative sample.
All panel members have given expressed permission to participate
in our research surveys, and have not been generated using
spam or other intrusive techniques.
Certain demographic groups are more difficult to recruit
over the internet, such as teenagers, lower income and
education groups, and older adults. Canadian Viewpoint
makes special efforts to attract and keep these groups.
In research, conducted online or not, there are inherent
biases. Initially the online groups consisted of mostly
upper income, highly educated males. However this bias
is no longer as pronounced, since the internet has become
more widely used, and reflects the general population.
Security
Canadian Viewpoint realizes that
the security of your research project is essential. Therefore,
Canadian Viewpoint goes to great lengths to ensure protection
of any vital information provided by your respondents.
Why We Ask For Your Telephone Number
or E-Mail Address
In select instances, when you participate
in a survey, you may be requested to provide your telephone
number or e-mail address. We do this in order to contact
contest winners. Also, we occasionally ask if individuals
wish to participate in future surveys. If you agree, we
may send you an invitation to a subsequent survey. At
all times your telephone number or e-mail address will
be kept strictly confidential and at no time will your
personal information, be shared with any third party without
your prior express consent.
